Join us at Waterstones Wolverhampton for a day of festive activities as Wolverhampton switches on its Christmas lights!

We will have author signings including brilliant thriller writer Mark Edwards with his brand new book The Christmas Magpie, sports writer Jake Perry with his Wolves book Nights in Gold Satin, MJ White with new Cora Lael thriller The Stolen Dead, children's activities with Grimogen Darkstar author Emma Finlayson-Palmer, Asmodee game demonstrations, and a prize draw in which a there's a book hamper to be won! Pick up an invitation/entry form in store now or on the 22nd, fill it in and hand it in to us on the day to be in with a chance of winning! There'll also be a prize treasure hunt for children.

Author schedule:

11AM: MEET MJ WHITE/MIRANDA DICKINSON

As thriller writer MJ White, Miranda has just published the sixth book in the Cora Lael series. The Stolen Dead is the heart-stopping conclusion to the author's debut crime series. All of the MJ White books will be available on the day, as well as Miranda Dickinson's romantic fiction titles, including this year's hit And Then There Was You, and the classic best-seller Fairytale of New York.

12PM: MEET WOLVES WRITER JAKE PERRY

Author and lifelong Wolves fan Jake Perry will be joining us at our festive shopping event to chat to fellow fans about all things Wolves, old and new, and to sign copies of his fascinating new book, Nights in Gold Satin, which chronicles the days when Wolverhampton Wanderers ruled the world. Nights in Gold Satin is the story of a momentous time in football for both Wolverhampton Wanderers and the wider game. The groundbreaking ‘floodlit friendlies’ of the 1950s would be the catalyst for the competition we now call the Champions League.
This will make a great present for a Wolves fan; why not pop along if you're in town for the Crystal Palce

12PM:

Children's activities with writer Emma Finlayson-Palmer. Emma will be doing Christmas craft activities for children and we'll have copies of her new book for younger readers, Grimogen Darkstar: Bat-Cat-Tastrophe available to buy. Her previous books about Autumn Moonbeam were big favourites with us here in Wolverhampton.

1.30PM

Following on from his hugely popular event for The Wasp Trap earlier this year, it will be brilliant to welcome back thriller writer Mark Edwards as he releases his terrifying new festive thriller, The Christmas Magpie. Mark lives in Wolverhampton, writes psychological thrillers about ordinary people encountering terrifying events, and has sold over 5 million copies of his books.

The Asmodee game demonstrators will be in store from 11am until 5pm if you'd like to learn a new game or fancy a quick round of Dobble!

All sessions are free to attend; just turn up on the day and meet your chosen author(s)!
