Astro Society public event

An amateur group founded in 1951, the Society has witnessed 75 years of fantastic achievements in astronomy and space exploration. The society is open to anyone with an interest in astronomy (including complete beginners who are more than welcome), and all tastes and experience levels are catered for.

Experts and experienced members are available to give new members help and guidance in understanding this most interesting scientific subject. We arrange a number of local observing evenings throughout the year. Additionally, we run several observing events in rural dark sky areas.

Throughout the year we continue with our interesting and varied programme of lectures from professional and experienced amateur astronomers, plus informal meetings and discussions.

Why not come to a meeting and check out our warm and friendly atmosphere? Non-members can attend a talk for a £2 visitor fee.
