More Information (WCR FM is not responsible for external websites)

Emma Purshouse will be joining us at Waterstones Wolverhampton to perform poems from her new collection of poetry, Unsung, and signing copies of her books.

Her new book celebrates the wonderful and sometimes surreal everyday lives of ordinary people in the Black Country and will delight her many fans and readers. With her usual sharp - and sometimes comic - eye, Emma catalogues the small triumphs and disasters of being human. This collection is a love poem for the Black Country, and for 'unsung' heroines, and heroes, everywhere.

Emma Purshouse is a writer, performance poet and novelist. She was the first Poet Laureate for the City of Wolverhampton (2020 – 2022).

Unsung is Emma's third book with Offa's Press, following previous collections Close (2018) and It's Honorary, Bab (2022). She is also the author of the acclaimed novel Dogged, set in Wolverhampton and published by Ignite Press in 2022.

Emma performs her work nationally, and is a poetry slam champion. In 2022 Emma came 3rd in the National Poetry Competition.

Tickets can be purchased in store at Waterstones Wolverhampton or from the Waterstones website.
