"Exploring Tipton's Lost Canals and Railways". Led by Keith Hodgkins.
Meet on Tipton Railway Station car park, Alexandra Road,
Tipton, DY4 SET. Walk length about two miles.
The walk will explore the remains of the routes of the original Birmingham Canal of 1772 and the Princes End branch railway of 1963, both long closed but happily converted to footpaths for some of their length. We will also see Tipton's oldest building: the tower of St John's church, dating from 1683.
