Join renowned space historian and presenter Andrew Lound for Soror Ad Astra (Sisters to the Stars) — an illuminating multimedia presentation celebrating the role of women in astronomy and space science.
From trailblazing astronomers like Caroline Herschel to pioneering astronauts such as Sally Ride, this talk traces how women have contributed to our understanding of the universe — often overcoming significant barriers of bias and exclusion. Alongside familiar figures, Andrew highlights the many overlooked scientists whose work propelled discoveries from celestial mapping to space exploration.
Accompanied by music, video, and stunning imagery, Soror Ad Astra blends storytelling with visual spectacle, offering both inspiration and insight into a rich, yet under-told chapter of scientific history. Perfect for anyone curious about astronomy, space exploration, women’s history, and the human stories behind scientific achievement.
