You are invited to visit our lovely village where J. R. R. Tolkien lived in 1916-17 and wrote the first tales of his epic mythology. Visit places where he lived and wrote and those that influenced his writings; talk to local Tolkien enthusiasts and learn more about this important period of his life.
Ample parking at Shugborough (courtesy of the National Trust) with access from the A513. Then walk in Tolkien's footsteps over Essex Bridge (the Bridge of Tavrobe!) into the village.
