Wolverhampton's second Healthy Ageing Festival is set to take place next week – with older residents and people who use Adult Social Care services invited along to enjoy a range of free activities.
Organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council, Healthwatch Wolverhampton and the OneWolverhampton partnership, the festival will offer interactive sessions and information about services and support designed to help people stay active.
Among the services on hand to speak to visitors will be representatives of the council's WV Active and social care teams, Wolves Foundation, Health, Healthwatch Wolverhampton, Global Diabietes and many more.
The Healthy Ageing Festival takes place at Fifth Avenue Community Centre, Fifth Avenue, Low Hill Wolverhampton on Monday (19 October) from 10am-4pm. Entry is free, people can drop-in at any time, and refreshments will be provided.
Councillor Obaida Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said: "Next week's Healthy Living Festival follows on from a successful inaugural event in March, and will once again bring together a variety of services offering valuable information for our older residents and people using our Adult Social Care services.”
Councillor Linda Leach, Cabinet Member for Adults, added: “This is a great opportunity for people to learn about the resources which are available to enhance their quality of life, and I would encourage residents to come along to find out more."
