People across the region are being encouraged to put their future plans in place this November as Compton Care launches its annual Make a Will Month campaign.
The charity, which provides specialist palliative and bereavement support, has partnered with local solicitors and will writers from across the region to offer will writing appointments through a Make a Will Month voucher. The voucher allows supporters to have a basic will written with the usual professional fee waived, in return for a minimum donation of just £100 for a basic will or £120 for a pair of mirrored wills.
By waiving their usual fees, the six partner firms are helping Compton Care supporters access a professionally written will using their voucher, while raising vital funds for people with life limiting conditions and their families.
Joanne Till, Legacy and In Memory Fundraiser at Compton Care, said: “Making a will is one of those important life admin tasks that many people put off, but having one in place can bring real peace of mind. We hope Make a Will Month gives local people the encouragement they need to take that step, secure their family’s future and support Compton Care at the same time.
“We’re grateful to our participating solicitors and will writers for giving their time and expertise to support the campaign. Appointments are limited, so we’d encourage anyone interested to request their voucher and book as soon as possible.”
Local couple, Katie and Matt, who previously participated in the scheme, said: “Making our wills was much easier than we expected. The whole process was simple and straightforward. A donation to Compton was part of the package, so knowing we were also helping support a fantastic charity was a bonus. It felt so good knowing that something so important for our family could also make a difference to others.”
The following solicitors and will writers are taking part in Make a Will Month: Kings Will’s Wills, MAG Solicitors, Evergreen Wills, Talbots Law (Codsall and Wolverhampton), Rees Page, and Tedstone, George & Tedstone Solicitors.
To make an appointment, please visit www.comptoncare.org.uk/maw to request your Make a Will Month voucher. The voucher can then be redeemed with one of our partnering solicitors or will writers. For more information, please contact fundraising@comptoncare.org.uk or 0300 323 0250.
