Santa Run returns: Beacon urges people to book now for 13 December

Beacon's festive Santa Run is returning for 2026

Beacon Vision’s festive Santa Run is returning to West Park, Wolverhampton, on Sunday 13 December, and organisers are inviting people across the Black Country to pull on a Santa suit and join in.

Hundreds of Santas are expected to take to the course for a morning of Christmas music, laughter and community spirit, raising money for people living with sight loss across the Black Country and the wider West Midlands.

The charity, based in Wolverhampton, says the accessible 5K route is open to runners, walkers, families, friends and even four-legged companions. Whether people are chasing a personal best or enjoying a family stroll, the aim is to celebrate the season while making a difference.

Registration opens at 9.30am at West Park (WV1 4PH). There will be a runners’ briefing and festive warm-up at 10am, and the race starts at 10.05am.

Adults receive a Santa suit, children get a Santa hat, and “Santa Paws” participants receive a festive dog bandana. All human participants also get a commemorative Santa Run medal. Beacon says the kit is subject to availability, but there is plenty to go around.

The charity is keen for everyone to feel able to take part. People living with sight loss who would like support, including being linked with a guide runner, are asked to get in touch with the charity before the event. Anyone with other accessibility requirements is also encouraged to contact the team.

There are rewards for fundraisers too. Those who raise more than £50 will receive a Beacon pin badge and a thank you card. Raise more than £150 and you’ll also get a unique fundraising medal and a limited-edition Santa Run tote bag. Dogs can fundraise too, and any four-legged runner who helps raise more than £50 will receive a special Christmas dog stocking.

A Beacon spokesperson said: “Whether you’re a regular runner, fancy a festive walk or just love an excuse to dress up as Santa, we’d love you to join us.”
