Parents and carers are being reminded to submit their secondary school applications as soon as possible, with the deadline just over a week away.
Applications are now being taken for Year 7 places for September 2027. Around 85% of parents and carers have already applied; the deadline is next Saturday 31 October, 2026, and the remaining families are being urged not to leave it until the last minute.
Applying is quick and easy, with parents and carers encouraged to visit the Wolverhampton School Admissions website at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/admissions to complete the short application form.
Anyone who needs support making their online application is invited to attend the final School Application Surgery being held at the Civic Centre, St Peter's Square, Wolverhampton, next Thursday 29 October 2026, from 10am-2pm. No appointment is necessary.
Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: “If your child is in their final year at primary or junior school, it is vital that you submit their secondary school place application before the deadline of 31 October.
"Around 85% of families have already applied, and we’re urging anyone who has not yet done so to make their application as soon as possible.
"The process is very straightforward and should only take a few minutes. Applications submitted after the deadline are considered late, which can affect the chances of securing a place at a preferred school."
