Two men have been charged after police stopped a car on cloned number plates in Wolverhampton earlier this week.
Officers from the Proactive Crime Team spotted the vehicle being driven in the Newbridge area at around 7pm on Tuesday. It was stopped on Tettenhall Road and two men were detained.
One man was arrested for driving while disqualified and for possession of cannabis, after a quantity of the suspected drug was seized from the car.
A second man in the vehicle was found to be wanted after failing to appear at court last month. He was further detained on suspicion of possessing heroin after a quantity of the drug was also recovered from the car.
Both men were later charged with the offences and appeared before magistrates yesterday.
The arrests came as part of Operation Redfox, which sees officers act on information to execute warrants and carry out proactive operations. The operation also involves high-visibility patrols aimed at disrupting and deterring crime and anti-social behaviour in hotspot areas across Wolverhampton.
